The Glenrothes has created an Exclusive Single Cask bottling – its first 2019 edition in Europe – for World Duty Free at Heathrow. This extremely limited edition – just 283 bottles are available – will launch on 3rd April 2019 during the airport’s Whisky Festival and will be available in World Duty Free’s specialist World of Whiskies stores across all Heathrow terminals.
Since 1879, The Glenrothes has been making remarkable single malt whisky in the very heart of Speyside. The brand’s Exclusive Single Cask Collection is an opportunity to offer something unique and truly special. Master Whisky Maker, Gordon Motion, has chosen a small selection of the very best casks to be bottled as single casks, allowing whisky aficionados to enjoy whisky in its purest form, developed over time as nature intended.
The 19-year-old Exclusive Single Cask Edition selected for World Duty Free and Heathrow is drawn from a bourbon-seasoned cask, #8189, and bottled at cask strength of 55.4% ABV. The whisky offers notes of rich dried fruits, orange peel and a hint of vanilla. The quality of the whisky is revealed by the iconic Glenrothes frame and bottle and each bottle is individually numbered.
To celebrate the launch, The Glenrothes is offering Heathrow Rewards members the opportunity to win a visit for two to the home of The Glenrothes in Speyside. This exclusive prize will enable the winner and one guest to explore a distillery that is not usually open for public tours. Each visitor will also receive a bottle of the distillery-exclusive 2004 Cellar Collection which is only accessible through the tour.
